Our Church
Sandylands Methodist Church seeks to be alive to God in the heart of Sandylands and to offer a welcome to all.
Our Church is an inclusive and friendly community, with people of different ages and backgrounds. We are a group of individuals who are journeying together.
1. We seek to be a church centred & focused on God, celebrating His Love for us through a variety of styles of worship.
2. We seek to be a welcoming/accepting church; supporting one another, practically and spiritually at all times.
3. Encouraging all members of our church community to be focused on discipleship to deepen their relationship with God, through worship, teaching, small groups, friendship and prayer.
4. We seek to develop & maintain programmes of social ministry by listening to our community for their practical, emotional and spiritual needs. We seek to share the good news of Jesus, and aim to make new disciples.
5. To be aware of issues in the wider world, and responding to those needs through prayer and practical support.
6. Providing ministry opportunities for people within our church by identifying those who are gifted, offering training/ support, and empowering people to serve in new roles within the life of our church.
Practical outcomes: It is proposed that from these aims for our church that these are discussed annual at church council. The purpose would be to set achievable goals/aims for mission each year for various groups in SMC.
